There are three attributes that all engine mounts have and that is comfort, longevity, and strength. The factory Cadillac CTS-V engine mounts have a heavy focus on comfort but generally lack strength and longevity. Another problem with factory mounts is they generally are fluid filled for comfort as well as cost savings. The problem with this is, when the rubber fails, the fluid is no longer contained and leaks out of the mount rendering it useless. Many aftermarket companies combat these problems by creating a non-liquid mount focused on strength with zero regard to comfort. An engine mount may be strong, but without proper design and materials they often lack longevity and comfort.
