DMS Supercharger Coolant Pump Test Number 2

It's been a few years since we did a big coolant pump show down and we have some new players on the field. This time we're doing a static test using some typical components found in most supercharged setups. We have a LSA supercharger lid with a stock intercooler brick, DMS billet inlet manifolds both in -12an and -16an, a CSF heat exchanger for the Gen 2 CTS-V and a custom test tank. The smaller pumps will be tested with both a short hose setup (found in most cars with a small engine bay tank) and a long hose setup (about 35 feet to simulate a trunk tank setup). The larger pumps will be tested with -12an and -16an in both short and long scenarios. 

The pump lineup:

The test bench. 

The key take away from this test is that hose diameter and length play a large role in flow rate. If you have a trunk tank setup but plan to run -12an hose you may find the Pierburg CWA150 to be a better value flowing 10.5 GPM @16 amps compaired to the CWA400 flowing 9.70 GPM @26 amps and the EMP flowing 13.20 GPM @30 amps.
